Meet Kye, a CrossFit coach with a unique background in the military as a recon marine, where he was first introduced to the CrossFit style of training. He was drawn to it because it kept him combat-ready, but as his CrossFit journey evolved, he discovered much more than just fitness gains. Kye has been seriously practicing CrossFit for 3.5 years, and in that time, he's found the most rewarding part of coaching is seeing the progress of his athletes. He loves onboarding new members and then witnessing their transformation months later. This journey of improvement is what drives him as a coach. What sets Kye apart is his ability to create a high-energy, motivating atmosphere in his classes. He's known for bringing the hype and making workouts exciting and fun, which keeps his athletes coming back for more. Beyond that, he understands the importance of patience and encourages his athletes to be patient with their goals, knowing that progress takes time and consistent effort. CrossFit has been more than just a fitness routine for Kye; it's helped him develop people skills and work through his own PTSD. He finds joy in the camaraderie and support of the CrossFit community. Whether it's competing with friends or doing a special workout like Abbey's Gate with his gym family, these experiences have shaped Kye's approach to coaching. As a coach, Kye hopes to inspire his athletes to be patient and consistent in their journey. He believes in setting goals, but he also knows that reaching them takes hard work and a bit of patience. Through his energy, experience, and positive attitude, Kye is dedicated to helping his athletes achieve their best.
A significant turning point in Kye's life came when he decided to volunteer for Marine Recon training. At first, he had planned on following a regular career path, but something pushed him to take the leap into the intense world of Recon training. Successfully completing this rigorous program was a revelation for Kye—it showed him just how crucial self-belief is to overcoming challenges and achieving success. This experience marked a shift in Kye's mindset. Before, he struggled with doubts about his own capabilities, but completing Recon training instilled in him a newfound confidence. This realization became a cornerstone in his life, driving him to tackle obstacles with determination and reinforcing the value of believing in oneself. It's a lesson he brings to his coaching, inspiring others to push through their own doubts and discover their inner strength.
Kye's purpose as a coach is clear: he wants to help everyday people build confidence and discover their inner strength. He finds joy in working with those who might not believe in themselves at first, guiding them through their journey as they gain body awareness and confidence through CrossFit. To Kye, watching this transformation is incredibly rewarding, especially when it starts to ripple into other aspects of his athletes' lives. He recognizes that even small wins, like learning a new movement or gaining comfort in the gym, are big steps for many people. That's why he's driven to create an environment where everyone feels encouraged and supported. Through his coaching, Kye aims to inspire a positive mindset and help his athletes realize they are capable of much more than they think.
