Coach
Meet Mo Kaul, our full-time coach at Rushmore CrossFit. Drawn to CrossFit by a longing for the high-intensity buzz of athleticism she once knew, she dove back into fitness after feeling the weight of single motherhood and the demands of adulting. She started CrossFit in December 2020, and started coaching in September of 2022- she's been guiding athletes toward their best selves, all while having a blast herself.
For Mo, coaching isn't just about reps and routines; it's about celebrating victories, big and small. From conquering a first pull-up to smashing a personal best, she's there, cheering on her crew every step of the way. With a unique approach focused on ensuring your 60 minutes in the gym is the highlight of your day, she's all about making fitness fun. And if you ever need a reminder that life's journey is full of unexpected twists (like getting stuck on a rower!), she's got stories to share that'll keep you laughing while you lift. Through CrossFit, she's not just shaping bodies; she's inspiring moms to reclaim their strength, redefine themselves, and find joy in the journey—because every victory in the gym is a win for life.
At a pivotal moment in her life, Mo found herself navigating a whirlwind of challenges: a divorce, a cross-country move, single motherhood, and the overwhelming shadow of a global pandemic. As she juggled the responsibilities of parenthood and a demanding career in healthcare, she felt the weight of stress and uncertainty bearing down on her every day. It was a time when joy seemed elusive, and the prospect of rediscovering herself felt like an impossible task.
In the midst of this tumultuous journey, Mo discovered her lifeline: CrossFit. With each hour spent in the gym, she began to carve out a space for herself—a space where she could reclaim her sense of purpose and prioritize her own well-being. With each class she attended, she felt the fog of depression lifting, replaced by a newfound sense of happiness and vitality. Others took notice, commenting on her transformed demeanor and contagious positivity. Through the daily commitment to her own growth and strength, Mo not only found herself again but became an even better mother to her son, Hunter. Her journey stands as a testament to the transformative power of resilience and the profound impact of self-care, proving that sometimes, the first step toward healing is as simple as trying something new.
Through her involvement in CrossFit, Mo aims to inspire moms to step out of their comfort zones and prioritize their own well-being. Having experienced firsthand the challenges of postpartum changes and the journey of rediscovery that followed, she is passionate about empowering mothers to embrace their strength and redefine their identities. Mo believes that there's no better example to set for your children than to show them the importance of self-care and resilience. By sharing her transformative experience, she hopes to encourage other moms to find joy, confidence, and fulfillment in their fitness journeys, proving that it's never too late to reclaim your strength and rewrite your story.
